Authorship

Twenty-five years listening. A lifetime telling stories.

Nancy meandered professionally through nursing, perinatal education, and marriage & family therapy until she found her true calling in education. Being a resource coordinator, a life skills counselor, and a high school counselor defined her and unleashed her passion for guiding, nurturing, supporting, and listening to adolescents transition into adulthood. She's grateful for every student who shared their life with her, trusting the safe space she created for each of them.

That same steadiness now shows up in two places: on the page, in her award-winning book, and in the recording booth, where her clear, confident, and soothing voice brings scripts, stories, and public messages to life. She doesn't simply read her lines — she presents them with a conviction that leaves a real impression.

"

I shared so much laughter, tears, highs, lows, angst, anticipation, and wonder with my students. This is a large part of why I wrote the book: as a tribute to them, and to help others — counselors, teachers, administrators, parents, and non-educators — find the passion in their own lives.

The Book

The Art of Being a
School Counselor

Leading with Confidence, Compassion, and Authenticity

Drawing on twenty-five years in public education and counseling, Nancy L. Regas, M.S., M.F.T., P.P.S., writes for the counselors, teachers, and parents standing in the hallway with a student who needs them. Part memoir, part field guide, it's a book about doing this work with steadiness and heart — and about trusting your own voice when it matters most.

Using her Velvety Vocal Vibes, Nancy narrated the audiobook herself — the same warm, grounded voice her students, clients, and voiceover clients know well. That performance earned the audiobook the Distinguished Favorite honor at the Independent Press Award. You can hear a preview in the Voice Work section below.

"

Those dulcet tones evoke a feeling of security in what Nancy is saying. Her voice is believable because she does believe in what she is producing. That's the secret to doing this job well — believing in the words you are saying.
